Soooo guess where I’m not? Charleston. My plans fell through 😦 It stinks but what can you do? I’m just going to look forward to the fact that I leave for Ireland in 11 days and counting.. woohoo!
The only exciting news I have is that today was my first day of pool therapy. OK, so not extremely exciting but it’s something, right? It wasn’t bad at all. In fact, I think I prefer it to regular therapy. The only thing that is kind of not so much fun is the stares that I get. They do my therapy at the local YMCA and there are two pools, one that is small and heated and is used for therapy and then the regular huge pool with the lanes. Well my therapy is in the small pool, which is frequented with the elderly. Yep, I’m having therapy with the old folks. Now, I have nothing against the elderly but there are some fiiine lifeguards that are my age and I can’t tell you how many times they looked at me like what in the world are you doing… and the things they make you do in pool therapy and the “equipment” you have to wear/use are NOT the most attractive things in the world. I would laugh at me if I saw me probably. I just wanted to scream “I have a stress fracture, OK?” And my fellow elderly therapy patients DID ask me what in the world I was doing and so I had to explain myself several times. But all in all, it was good. And I really like my therapist!! Here’s to hoping that the therapy helps…
Rewinding to Memorial Day… which, by the way, how was yours? Mine was good, very memorable in fact 🙂
I ended up not eating “breakfast” until after noon yesterday because I stayed out Sunday night so I had a HUGE bowl of oats.. or should I say soup? They really turned out more like soup than oatmeal but they tasted delicious.
The pictures are kind of blurry for some reason but it had:
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup 1% milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 of a banana
- cinnamon
- pinch of salt
- 1 small peach
- whipped cottage cheese
- Naturally Nutty vanilla peanut butter
- TJ”s salted almond butter
- real Vermont Maple Syrup
My really late lunch ended up being a bowl of Chocolate Cheerios…
Which are good, by the way. Kind of tasted like Cocoa Puffs, if you remember those? Not very filling though.
And an un-pictured peach.
Dinner was a baked sweet potato with maple onion baked beans and more cinnamon honey butter…
Delicious!
And some kale sautéed with POM juice.
I had a simple bowl of yogurt, granola, and 1/2 of a banana for breakfast.
Lunch was a turkey sandwich on whole wheat with mustard.
And some strawberries. From California. 😦 Local strawberries are rumored to be all gone… but the search is still on.
I had this protein shake (1/2 scoop Jay Robb’s vanilla, 1/2 cup coconut milk, 1/2 cup almond milk) after PT.
Dinner was barbecue chicken, green beans, and roasted purple potatoes.
These potatoes are very different… I picked them up at Whole Foods this past weekend. I had them a while back and they were good but these were kind of.. off or something. Pretty though..
I have been craving an ice cream sundae like NOTHING else and we just so happened to have the ingredients soo…
This would be plain vanilla frozen yogurt, whipped cream, and hot fudge sauce. Holy Crap. SO GOOD.
Have a good night loves!
